Healing Trauma Through Somatic Experiencing
Christina Conrad, LPCs, SEP, began her work with trauma at Safeplace, a domestic violence and sexual assault agency, in Austin, Tx. After working in a variety of roles and aspects of trauma healing and crisis stabilization, Christina realized that talk therapy would not be enough to address the effects of trauma on a lasting level. Christina completed a 3-year intensive trauma training through the Trauma Institute in Boulder, Co for somatic Experiencing (SE) and moved on to assist in the Institute with ongoing SE training's.
After returning home to Tulsa, Christina worked at Tulsa Women and Children's Center, an inpatient facility for women in recovery from addiction and dual diagnosis, where she created a Somatic Sobriety curriculum and studied the physiology of addiction and recovery. Christina is now in full-time private practice in Tulsa, serving individuals and couples, and clinicians under supervision.
